Good to know
A few things worth knowing.
01Can I use Söz if I’m new to Kyrgyz?
Yes. Start with everyday words and short phrases, choose your starting level, and let Söz adjust the difficulty as you practise. It is a way to build vocabulary alongside your other learning, not a replacement for speaking practice.
02Is the browser extension free?
Yes. You can install Söz and do the exercises for free, without creating an account. Your progress is saved in your browser.
03Do I need to watch videos in Kyrgyz?
No. Watch what you like, in any language. The exercises come from the learning set inside Söz, not from the video. Söz does not read video titles, subtitles, audio or your watch history.
04Will it interrupt every time I press play?
No. One standard video gets one exercise. Repeated pauses and plays in the same video do not create another card.
05Does it work with Shorts and live streams?
Not yet. Söz intentionally stays out of Shorts, live streams, ads and fullscreen playback.
06Can I practise without watching a video?
Yes. Click Söz in your browser toolbar and choose Practice now. You can also turn the extension off there when you want to watch without exercises.
