Agreement and eligibility

By downloading, accessing, or using Söz, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use Söz for a child, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for them.

What Söz provides

Söz provides vocabulary lessons, practice, progress tracking, widgets, reminders, cultural notes, and related educational features. Features, word sets, availability, and supported platforms may change as the product develops.

Söz is a learning aid. We work to keep translations, examples, and cultural notes accurate, but language is contextual and mistakes can happen. Do not rely on Söz as the sole source for legal, medical, safety-critical, or professional translation.

Free features and Söz Pro

Söz offers a free experience and optional Söz Pro paid access. Söz Pro includes expanded pronunciation access, advanced practice and test modes, full collections, customization, and other paid features shown in the app at the time of purchase.

Paid access is provided through Apple in-app purchase on iOS. The current Apple product setup includes monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscriptions and a lifetime non-consumable unlock. Product availability, local price, taxes, features, and Family Sharing support can vary by storefront and product configuration.

Subscriptions, lifetime unlock, and billing

Before purchase, the app purchase screen should show the product name, subscription duration when applicable, included content or services, the full localized price, and a way to restore purchases. The Apple purchase sheet controls the final confirmation.

Auto-renewable subscriptions renew until canceled. You can manage or cancel them in your Apple Account or App Store subscription settings, and cancellation takes effect according to Apple’s rules for your plan and storefront. A lifetime unlock is a one-time non-consumable purchase for the eligible Söz Pro features in the app, subject to these terms and App Store rules.

Payments, taxes, purchase confirmation, receipts, subscription management, cancellations, and refund requests are handled by Apple. We do not process payment card details. If Apple grants a refund or revokes a transaction, Söz Pro access may end.

A free trial or introductory offer applies only when it is explicitly shown on the App Store purchase screen before confirmation. The current product configuration does not promise one.

Restoring purchases and access

Use Restore Purchases in the app if paid access does not appear after reinstalling the app, changing devices, using Family Sharing, or completing a purchase on another device. Restore requires the Apple Account that owns or receives the purchase and network/App Store availability.

Söz will not require optional privacy permissions, social posts, contact uploads, or repeated check-ins before you can use paid functionality you have purchased.

License and app stores

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Söz for lawful, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control, subject to the rules of the store where you obtained it.

For Apple downloads, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless a valid custom EULA is provided in App Store Connect. If these website terms conflict with mandatory app store terms, the mandatory store terms control.

Acceptable use

• Do not reverse engineer, bypass security, disrupt the service, or use automated systems to extract the word database except where applicable law expressly allows it.
• Do not copy, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Söz content without written permission.
• Do not use support or feedback channels for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harmful material.

Content and intellectual property

Söz, its branding, interface, illustrations, text, curated collections, and software are owned by or licensed to the Söz developer and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership to you.

If you send feedback or corrections, you allow us to use them without payment or obligation to improve Söz. You keep ownership of any rights you already hold in your feedback.

Third-party services

Söz relies on platform and service providers such as Apple, Google where applicable, StoreKit/App Store services, Cloudflare, Mixpanel, and TelemetryDeck. Their services may be governed by separate terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

Availability, warranty, and liability

Söz is provided on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not promise uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy, or that every feature will work on every device.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Söz developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes, suspension, and law

We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of Söz and may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.

These terms are governed by applicable law, without taking away mandatory consumer protections available where you live. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may resolve disputes that cannot be settled informally.
